Site work
Commercial excavating and site preparation across Central New Jersey
Commercial excavating is the stage where a schedule is won or lost. Central Jersey Property Maintenance self-performs grading, site preparation, drainage correction and demolition with our own excavators, skid-steers and operators, so the next trade is not waiting on a rented machine and a subcontractor’s crew.
Grading and site prep
Rough and finish grading, pad preparation and access roads built to take construction traffic.
Drainage correction
Regrading, swales, basin work and the outfall repairs that stop water sitting where it should not.
Demolition and removal
Slab, curb, structure and debris removal with material hauled and disposed of properly.
Utility and trench work
Trenching and backfill coordinated through New Jersey One Call (811) before anything breaks ground.
Why self-performed matters
The machine and the operator are both ours
Most delays on a site job are scheduling delays, not digging delays. Owning the fleet removes the handoff.
No rental queue
Equipment is allocated to your job, not released to whoever calls first.
Operators who know the fleet
The same people run these machines every week, which shows up in finish grade quality.
Phased around operations
Most of our work is on properties that stay open, so we sequence around traffic and deliveries.
One contractor through to restoration
Grading, drainage and the landscaping that follows are all in-house, so one commercial excavating contract covers the whole sequence.
Land clearing
Clearing is handled by a dedicated crew
Parcel clearing, brush, right-of-way and retention pond restoration are covered in depth on the land clearing page for the Cranbury corridor, where most of that work sits.
Site walk
We walk the parcel, mark what stays, and flag wetland buffers and easements.
Markouts
811 markouts coordinated, then a written scope with fixed pricing and a disposal plan.
Execution
Our own crews and machines. Material is chipped, mulched in place or hauled.
Restoration
Finish grading, drainage correction and the site left ready for the next trade.
Service area
Site crews across the Exit 8A corridor
We are based in Cranbury, minutes from the warehouse corridor, and most site work sits within a thirty-minute radius. Statewide coverage is available for larger contracts.
Equipment
What we bring to a site job
Unit counts and a full equipment schedule are furnished on request. Everything below is company-owned and maintained in-house, which is what lets us commit to a start date rather than an estimate.
Excavators and skid-steers
Compact and mid-size excavators plus skid-steer loaders with grading, breaker and mulching attachments.
Hauling
Flatbed and dump capacity so spoil, stumps and demolition debris leave the site the same day they are generated.
Forestry mulching
Mulching heads for parcels where hauling is impractical, leaving a stabilised surface and no burn pile.
Support fleet
Boom and lift equipment for elevated work, plus water and dust control on active sites.
Questions
What owners and developers ask first
Want a number on your parcel? Call (732) 274-0496 for a site walk.
Do I need a permit?
Often yes. Soil disturbance, tree removal and anything near a wetland or stream can trigger municipal or NJDEP review. We flag what we see on the walk; the permit is held by the owner.
Can you work on an operating site?
Yes. Warehouses, campuses and healthcare sites stay open while we phase the work around traffic and loading windows.
What happens to the spoil and debris?
Hauled and disposed of properly, mulched in place where that suits the site, or stockpiled if you want the material retained.
Do you do the restoration afterwards?
Yes – finish grading, drainage and grounds restoration are all self-performed.
